SEX CRIMES ARRESTS: Destiny Ferrini, Kyle Grinnell, Tycoreyan James, and Zachary Johnson arrested for rape of 15-year-old

Butte County, California — Chico residents Destiny Ferrini, Kyle Grinnell, Tycoreyan James, and Zachary Johnson are all in custody at the Butte County Jail on felony charges relating to a months-long human trafficking investigation led by Chico Police Detectives.

Detectives launched their investigation in September 2025 after receiving information regarding the alleged sexual abuse of a fifteen-year-old female juvenile.

Detectives learned the juvenile victim had been introduced to 33-year-old Tycoreyan Kadeem James by an associate, 21-year-old Destiny Rose Anne Ferrini.

Further investigation revealed James exploited and trafficked the juvenile within Chico.

Video evidence believed to have been recorded by Ferrini depicted the juvenile victim being sexually assaulted by James and two additional adult males, one of whom was identified as 33-year-old Kyle John Grinnell.

Detectives utilized image-to-image comparison software and subsequently corroborated the 3rd individual’s identity as 37-year-old Zachary Richmond Johnson.

While developing information and collecting evidence, the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office played a crucial role by dedicating personnel and resources to support the investigation.

Chico Police Detectives later partnered with BINTF (Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force) agents to serve a search warrant at Johnson’s residence, where evidence was recovered confirming the videos were recorded at that location.

Investigators additionally located over half a pound of cocaine, evidence of drug sales, and multiple firearms in Johnson’s residence.

As a result of this coordinated investigative effort, Ferrini, James, Grinnell, and Johnson were arrested and are currently being held at the Butte County Jail pending further court proceedings.

Due to the nature of the investigation, no additional information will be released at this time to protect the identity and privacy of the juvenile victim.

• Possession of Short Barreled Rifle or Shotgun (felony)

• Receive Stolen Property Exceeding $950 in Value (felony)

KYLE JOHN GRINNELL (33) BAIL $490,000:

• Rape in Concert (felony)

• Lewd Act on Child 14 or 15 years old (felony)

• Oral Copulation of Person Incapable to Resist (felony)
