A Sarasota man has been found guilty of producing and possessing child sexual abuse material, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.

Sean Anthony Christie, 43, faces a maximum penalty of 80 years in federal prison. His sentencing hearing has not been scheduled.

According to testimony and evidence presented at trial in federal court in Tampa, Christie used the social media application Kik to solicit, receive and distribute child sexual abuse material depicting minors under 12 years of age.

Christie also used another social media application to meet minor girls, including a 12-year-old victim whom he used to produce child sex abuse material.

Court documents say FBI investigators received a tip in November 2024 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that said files containing images, including videos of a male sexually abusing an infant male, and another of a man with a female estimated to be between 5-7 years of age, were sent to an IP address registered to Christie.

When FBI agents executed a search warrant at Christie’s home Nov. 19, 2024, they seized a cell phone where additional child sexual abuse material was found.
