I need my Friends here to let me know if I am a horrible person. Since I got my birdfeeder camera I've been, on and off, battling rats. I've tried so many things, motion sensor lights, the feeder has a siren option at night, I turn that on, which scares them off but they have to be in the feeder first. I sprayed rat repellent, pepper spray, repellent pellets. motion sensor flashing lights. All things worked for a short time. But there's been this one rat that has stuck around. It stopped going in the feeder cuz the siren and also now I cover the feeder with a zip lock at night. But it just still lived in my back yard. I would see it night sometimes. Zoey would chase it also when ever she got a whiff. This morning around 630 am I turned the siren off the feeder and was going out to uncover it, the birds like to come as the sun is rising. As I opened the sliding door I saw the little rat bastard run across the patio...arghhhh.
I didn't want to poison it cuz I was afraid if an animal ate it after death. My son kept tellin me "Mom you just have to get rat traps and be done with it, it's never gonna leave"
So that's what I did. It met its demise this evening. And I do feel a bit bad. But I really really tried to make it just move out of my backyard, truly I did.
Please tell me I am not the horrible person I sort of feel like I am?
