He brought a gun. Going in, there were two possibilities for him: 1) it's a setup or 2) it's a real kid. Again, he brought a gun.
It turned out that it was a setup and he did not use the gun (he dropped it like an obedient little bitch). So why did he bring it?
IMO, for the 2nd scenario, if it was a real kid, I think he wanted to either kill or forcibly rape her at gunpoint. Nothing else makes sense.
