“POSER”!!! THAT is the word I’ve been trying think of. Thank you!! Perfectly exemplifies ALL of the Alex wannabes that are trying to copy EVERY word and nuance, (even his inflection and cadence at times) ineffectually turning Alex’s pioneering methods into a cheap and campy “script” that they’re all attempting to copy, ver batim, POORLY.
Watching any of the others is like watching a shitty impersonation of Alex. It just doesn’t work.
Alex isn’t effective because of the aspects of Reid or whatever techniques he employs.
He is great because he has worked SO hard, to tweak techniques and supplement them with his special brand of humor and vast knowledge of popular and political cultures. He is CLEARLY well read and incredibly knowledgeable.
I ask myself, of other “catchers”, “would I be watching this right
